About Us

Scuba diving Ko Tao is a blog about scuba diving in the crystal clear blue waters of  Koh Tao island,

accommodation on Ko Tao island as well as a blog to give you an idea of what your travels and underwater adventures might entail.

 Scuba Diving Koh Tao:

Scuba diving Koh Tao is an absolute must for anyone visiting the island as it is one of the scuba diving meccas in the world and has one of the most beautiful and unique underwater landscapes as well as rare marine life such as whale-sharks which is something that any diver could brag about seeing and definitely an experience that will always keep you wanting to come back for more.

The great thing about Scuba Diving on Koh Tao is that the island forms what is part of the Chumphon archipelago Nature reserve which means that water pollution and under-water noise pollution is low as fishing boats and trawlers have to stay far off and away from the island, which is great news for the reefs' ability to thrive.

Dive Sites In Koh Tao:

The sites in Koh Tao as I said are truly amongst the most interesting and unique I've seen in my years of diving from ship-wrecks to underwater plateaus, creative artificial reefs and even mountainous looking sites such as Chumphon Pinnacle.

Snorkeling  Sites In Koh Tao:

There are almost just as many snorkeling sites on Koh Tao as there are dive sites.

Although, you can always choose between hiring a charter or going snorkeling by yourself and doing a bit of exploring whilst avoiding the crowds if you have your own gear but don't stress, there's always the option of renting gear from the resorts and hotels on the island.

Things To Do In Koh Tao:

There is honestly so much to do and see on Koh Tao that it would take multiple visits to get around to it all.

Anything from kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, mini-golf, watching a movie on the big screen, a road trip with scooters and finally ending the day of by seeing and experiencing Koh Tao's night life with live bands, karaoke and fire dancing shows.

Although I find Koh Tao to be the most layded-back island of the three, it can still very much be a sensory overload with all the hustle and bustle, honking, loud music and what seems like general chaos at times but it doesn't take all to long to get comfortable with it.

Accommodation In Koh Tao:

Whether you're looking to stay in a backpackers or your own private villa, maybe even a 4 or 5 star hotel or resort, Koh Tao really does have accommodation suitable for every budget, need and want.

One odd thing about Koh Tao's accommodation is that it is often times cheaper to stay wherever you are staying for a month than it is to pay the daily rate, for example my stay at P&N guesthouse would've costed me around 9000 Baht for two weeks stay as apposed to paying 9000 Baht for a whole month.

The reason for this as far as I can think is that the locals want security in knowing that a tourist would stay for a longer period than only making 2000 Baht for a short duration stay.
